I arrived at Avanti for a facial, and I was immediately taken in by the warm ambiance and smart, tasteful décor. Soft brown walls, vaulted ceilings, enlightening earth tones, distinctive red bamboo accents and the scent of vanilla all embraced me. I approached the reception desk, gracefully adorned with glowing candles, and checked in for my appointment. I was asked to complete a short skin questionnaire detailing my specific skin concerns and complexion type which would aid my esthetician in choosing the appropriate products and steps to incorporate into my facial. When I finished the form, I took a minute to survey the vast assortment of products and special elixirs lining the shelves such as SkinCeuticals, a science-based skincare line that Avanti uses exclusively, and Mineralogie, a custom-blended mineral makeup collection so gentle the cosmetics can even be applied immediately following microdermabrasion and chemical peels.

Before long, an esthetician greeted me and guided me back to a secluded treatment room away from the front area and toward quiet tranquility. I settled into the treatment chair and began to unwind as my esthetician cleansed my face with a gentle cleanser she selected particularly for my skin tone. Then she misted a small steamer around my face to help open any congested pores. All of the products she chose to suit my skin type lined the countertop, which allowed me the opportunity to inquire about each one's specific intent and benefit. She answered all of my questions in a friendly, informative manner. After the refreshing cleanser and steam, she placed cucumber-scented pads over my eyes while she took a closer look at my skin under the magnifying lamp. She pointed out some damage and congestion and explained which products she wanted to use to help target those problems.

Next, she exfoliated my skin with another product from the coveted SkinCeuticals line and then extracted my clogged pores to reveal a glowing layer of skin beneath. This was followed by a delicate face massage with a gentle oil that she said wouldn't clog my pores. After removing any excess oil, she brushed a fruit-infused mask on my face and misted a little more steam around me to help lock in moisture.

While the mask worked its tingly magic, the esthetician gave me a soothing chest, shoulder and back massage with Avanti's signature mango-peach lotion. The scent was delightful, and her gentle kneading released tension in my muscles. Once she removed the mask, she worked in a Vitamin C Serum that replenished my face with moisture and alleviated any residual redness. She concluded this totally relaxing and rejuvenating treatment with a final application of moisturizer before sending me on my way. As I left Avanti I noticed that the skin on my face looked much more even-toned and the texture was the softest I had ever felt.
