Donald Trump has been famously quoted as saying, "Go Big Or Go Home," and at the Trump brand's luxurious hotel and condo high rise overlooking the Chicago River, the "Go Big" concept can be seen in breathtaking scale. Trump International Hotel and Tower looms over most of the city, serving up breathtaking views from 339 luxury hotel rooms -- plus condos-- on the corner of North Wabash Ave. in River North. And I haven't even touched on the magnificence of the The SPA at Trump, a stunning 23,000 square foot space located on the 14th floor of Trump Tower. After being ushered up to The SPA at Trump courtesy of the concierge, and completing some standard paperwork about my daily skin care routine, I was lead to the ladies locker room. I slipped into a plush Trump robe and slippers in one of the private changing rooms before making my way to the Spa Lounge. Along the way I took in amazing views of my city, thanks to crystal clear floor-to- ceiling windows. The SPA at Trump also boasts an expansive Health Club including a 75- foot heated pool and work-out facilities. In fact the amenities at The SPA at Trump are so generous, guests are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes before their spa services to take it all in, enjoying all of the trimmings of luxury that Trump offers. My day of bliss at The SPA at Trump began with a "Trump Results" Facial, part of the Kate Somerville Results Driven facial menu that features offerings such as the "Dermal Quench" and "Universal Glow." Or, guests may opt for a service from the Pure Facial menu featuring other unique skin-saving facials, such as the "Black Pearl Rejuvenation Facial." All Pure Facials are ideally complemented by Gemstone Elixir Infusions upon request. For my facial the esthetician used Kate Somerville products to create a customized experience for my sensitive skin. The "Trump Results" facial focuses on promoting youthful, revitalized skin, and true to its promise, delivered glowing results. I headed back to the relaxation room to await my next service, the Ultimate Urban Body Mask. I sipped berry-infused water and nibbled on exotic, dried fruits before being greeted by a Licensed Massage Therapist who escorted me to one of the 11 elegantly appointed treatment rooms at The SPA at Trump. Soft music lingered in the air of the treatment room paired with the welcoming scent of aromatherapy. Exclusive to Chicago, the Ultimate Urban Body Mask is designed to combat the environmental effects of Chicago life using botanicals that detoxify and replenish. The Ultimate Urban Body Mask begins with a thorough full-body exfoliation calling upon detoxifying herbal mineral salts. Next, a blue-green algae body mask is generously applied from head to toe, engulfing the entire body and removing toxins that are plentiful on the city streets below. After my skin was buffed and polished, it was time to rinse in an oh-so- relaxing Trump shower. With shower heads dispersing warm water from all directions, I was able to rinse away the dead skin to reveal a healthy, smooth body. Then I toweled off and got back onto the massage table to conclude the out- of-this-world experience with a full body massage featuring detoxifying aromatherapy oils. Other offerings for the urbanite in need of escape include the Ultimate Urban Neck and Shoulder Massage, Ultimate Urban Hand Relief and Ultimate Urban Indulgence. And while luxury may be nothing new to Chicago, at Trump International Hotel & Tower opulence goes big. The SPA at Trump offers sumptuous services as well as 53 exclusive Spa Guest Rooms on the 14th floor. Designed for overnight guests, these Spa Rooms feature soothing earth tones, a health conscious mini bar -- think organic wines, juices and snacks -- some non-obtrusive workout equipment (free weights, pilate's mat, etc.), as well as eye and neck pillows infused with eucalyptus. The largest room, the Spa Executive Suite, is a generous 900 square feet and all Spa Guest Rooms are just steps from the spa itself, meaning that, while you may show up in a power suit, you can spend your entire visit wrapped in a spa robe.
