Luxury is an understatement when describing this dazzling destination in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood. Led by expert stylist Johnathan Breitung, the space is located near the bustling intersection of Belmont, Ashland and Lincoln. The area around the salon and spa boasts convenient street parking and nearby Brown Line stops. This section of Lincoln Avenue in Lakeview is lined with retail shops and restaurants, making it a fun neighborhood destination perfect for spending an afternoon. A gigantic signature "J" towers above
the entrance to the salon and spa, a poignant
marker of this prestigious beauty destination.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a friendly staff,
whose warmth negated any pretension I may have
anticipated at a salon this phenomenal. The first
floor boasts the expansive open salon area,
illuminated brightly and accented with stunning
white orchid plants. To the right, a plethora of
Kerastase product lines the shelves. At the back
of the salon floor is an exposed color station,
adding an intriguing element of décor and color.
I was greeted by the Licensed Massage Therapist who explained how the Vichy Shower originated in France, and consists of multiple pressured jet shower heads delivering body temperature water strategically to the Chakra points on the body to both calm and detoxify. I was draped in towels, as the LMT began the treatment. The water treatment began with passes of the long armed shower slowly back and forth across my body; my muscles were engulfed in warmth and relaxation. A salt scrub was massaged into my skin, which eventually turned into a luxurious soft and creamy lather. The LMT used a detached pressurized head to massage each part of my body, and each step was repeated once more. The water was turned off and the treatment finished with a light massage. I was left in a total state of relaxed bliss. My next stop after changing, was at the salon for a haircut with Johnathan Breitung himself. Breitung, a master stylist with over 15 years of experience, loves his work so much that he is at the salon seven days a week, behind the chair practicing his craft. His warmth and kindness immediately made me feel like an old friend. Breitung's work is so polished that it seems effortless as he sectioned and snipped my long locks. He then applied a light volumizer, and blew out my hair with the utmost care as he perfectly curled my ends with a round brush. The result was a fantastic cut with long layers and face framing long bangs. The Johnathan Breitung Salon and

both relaxation and beauty; I left feeling both
rejuvenated and coiffed. The perfect pampering
combination used to be hard to achieve, but the
