The liberation of Paris

Beauty experts agree. "Solitary confinement has worked wonders for Paris Hilton's skin and facial structure," says Dr. Cheryl Perlis, a Botox specialist in Libertyville. "Her lips were plump and her eyes were wrinkle-free as she smiled her way down the courthouse catwalk."

Perlis doubts that a plastic surgeon made any jail calls. "Twenty-three hours of rest a day has had a better impact than Restylane or Botox combined," she says.

Carolyn Brundage, the founder of ChicagoBeauty.com, calls it "pokey pretty."

"For a woman rumored to spend $10,000 on hair and makeup for an average night out," Brundage says, "I think she should turn over a new leaf and donate the money to charity. The natural look is much more flattering for Paris."

Hilton did try to keep up appearances, though. TMZ.com saw one of her receipts from the jail canteen. In addition to snacks, the inmate ordered skin cream, eyebrow pencils, an emery board and cotton swabs.

And there's one last improvement no beauty guru can give you: a sincere smile.

"I think her joy is appealing," says Brundage. "That posed 'I'm too sexy for myself' look she usually gives is notably absent. That's a good thing."
