No need to stop celebrating dolls, the holidays aren’t over yet. Today, January 8, is National Bubble Bath Day – what better reason to fill up your tub, grab some vino (and a partner if you dare) and soak up relaxation?

Foaming vs. Bubbling

All bubble baths were not created equally; enter the “foaming bath.”  It wants to bubble but it can’t seem to fully commit. Our advice?  Find a bath partner that shows some real enthusiasm for bathing with you; you’re worth it.

Here are a few of our best in bubble picks:

Sonoma Soap Company’s “First Crush” Bubble Bath: Freshly crushed, certified organic grape seed, red raspberry and green apple extracts combine to create a decadent and earth-friendly bubble bath we adore.

This paraben-free product is also biodegradable, 99.5% natural and easy on the wallet; get it for $9.95 at sonomasoapcompany.com.

Lander Essentials 3-in-1 Bubble Bath, Shampoo and Body Wash: It’s big – 32 oz. – and it’s cheap, less than five bucks at Walmart, and we actually like it.

Available in scents such as Lavender, Coconut, Orange Ginger or Vanilla Crème Caramel, this affordable product yields generous bubbles and smells divine.

Booty Parlor’s Naughty Bubbles: This fun-in-the-tub product will leave your skin sparkling thanks to “glisten beads” that last well after the bath time excitement ends.

$22 for an 8.4 oz. bottle at bootyparlor.com.

Bubbly Gives Me A Headache

If you’re not into bubbles, but love the idea of soaking in a hot tub, bath salts are fabulous alternative.  Bath Salts can serve a bevy of beautifying purposes from reducing the pruning effects of long baths to exfoliating skin and softening water.

We recommend EO salt line.  It is organic, free of sodium lauryl, laureth sulfate and parabens.  Try a 4oz bag of “Time Out” bath salts for $3.99 at eoproducts.com

Without any artificial colors or synthetic fragrances, skin is soothed and purified, naturally.

'Cause You’re So Smooth

For those of us in colder climates, hydrating the skin is a winter essential.  A great way to soften even the driest, scaliest skin is with a capful of bath oil in a warm — not scalding — bath.

We recommend Liz Earle’s Vital Oils for the Bath, a great way to alter any mood in your choice of Comfort, Harmony and Bliss. Get ‘em for $42 at us.lizearle.com.
