poreĀ·fecĀ·tion (n): a nirvana-like state of complexion flawlessness, exemplified by minimized, unclogged pores
They're small (they just look big); they're sensitive (they just seem impervious) and yet they're the biggest skin care concern you've got.
They're pores, and for many women the quest for perfect skin begins with porefection. Here's our fail-proof, three-step program guaranteed to deliver the ideal pores you've been searching for.
Step 1: Get Real
Page through the photos spreads in many glossy mags and you're bound to notice that pores may be larger than they appear on airbrushed images. In the real world, not even those glamazons have invisible pores. The first step in achieving porefection is to get real about your expectations. The goal is to minimize pores, not eradicate them. After all, pores do serve a purpose, allowing oil to flow efficiently, thereby, keeping skin soft and hydrated.

The Inside Scoop: Our Editor Gets Gorgeous at Essence MedSpa & Wellness Center in Chicago
Ever been to a 25,000 square foot spa and wellness center with Moroccan influences? I have...and it's in Chicago.
Just on the outskirts of the city, I discovered an exotic retreat that takes guests on a vacation of the mind and body. In fact, Essence Med Spa and Wellness Center sits on Kinzua Avenue along the town's local commuter tracks and has ample, metered parking along its entrance. Formerly a post office, this palatial spa now delivers physical therapy, medical spa services, traditional spa services and very soon, a cosmetic surgical suite. A one stop Moroccan shop if you will.

The Inside Scoop: Nails Naturally Hand and Foot Spa in The Loop
Nestled away in the historic 55 East Washington Building in the heart of the Chicago Loop is Nails Naturally Hand and Foot Spa. Located in a long, narrow suite on the fourth floor of the Pittsfield Building, this nail salon is cozy and intimate; artwork and products line the beige walls providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
When I arrived at Nails Naturally ready to be pampered, I was immediately greeted by the vivacious owner, LaShaun Brown-Glenn. Brown-Glenn quickly directed me to one of the two pedicure stations at the end of the salon. I turned the plush massage chair on and began relaxing as the pampering began.
Brown-Glenn began my afternoon at Nails Naturally with a Rainforest Pedicure, which she called "a facial for my feet," paired with a warm foot soak. To make sure that I was completely relaxed for this treatment, Brown-Glenn placed chamomile lavender eye pads over my eyes as I melted into the chair and relished the soothing pedicure.
