| The Inside Scoop: Salon Serene in the West

In the lively West Loop, my lifeless locks found refuge
inside Salon Serene. As a self-professed, long-standing
fan of Highlights (full-head no less), my tresses were due for
an overhaul, a task I trusted with celebrated owner and
stylist Laura Barsotti.
After I parked my car in a
convenient metered spot, I trotted into the salon to find a
large, clean space showcasing exposed rafters, concrete
floors, splashes of purple on the walls, and a complimentary
beverage bar. I was also pleased to discover its
boutique-style atmosphere as opposed to a high- traffic salon
with an impersonal feel. I checked in at the reception desk
for my color and haircut appointment and was pleasantly guided
through the entire space.
