We're taking a peek into your favorite celebrities' beauty stashes to
reveal the grooming splurges and steals of Sarah Jessica Parker, Reese Witherspoon,
Jennifer Hudson, Gwen Stefani and more. Splurge:
Cor's Silver Soap, $125 Sure, we all wash ourselves but for A-list celebrities,
even the traditional bar soap goes luxe. No, it's not made of gold, but close
to it; Cor's Silver Soap is crafted of real silver along with four types of collagen.
The product promises to even skin tone while cleansing and moisturizing the skin
and for just $125 the company also claims you'll look younger, thanks to the soaps
ability to replenish collagen. Mariska Hargitay is a believer!
Those who
can't bear to part with over one hundred bucks for a bar of soap can live the
Hollywood lifestyle by ordering a sample sized silver soap for just $14 at plankdesigns.com.
I've just about gotten
this beauty thing figured out. I drink tons if water, opt for regular facials
and apply eye cream nightly. And just when the habits required to look great have
become second nature, chocolate-that acne-inducing lover from the past - is back.
Did I mention it's also supposed to be good for us? That's
right; experts say cocoa infused beauty products stimulate circulation, thanks
to trace amounts of caffeine, while serving as a natural skin soother that is
choc-full of antioxidants. So this week, I've rounded up some of the most chocolicious
products on the market-all taste-tested and approved, of course!
Whip
Stick Lip Balm by Lush You gotta love Lush. Committed to natural ingredients
long before it was hip to do so, Lush's International beauty boutiques serve up
homegrown products with a sophistication not found at your local farmer's market.
I'm enamored with the Whip Stick Lip Balm ($8.45), choc-full of tasty ingredients
such as olive oil, honey and chocolate, because it lives up to the claim on the
packaging, "A Tasty Chocolate Lip Balm." And it's so fresh it actually comes with
a made on and use by date. Lush products are available online at lush.com. The other day, stuck in bad weather at New
York's LaGuardia Airport, I couldn't help but indulge in one of my favorite vices:
people watching. Why
call it a vice? Well, stylefiling would be a more accurate description and, trust
me, women everywhere are doing it. That's right, we've noticed your bad hair day
or your mismatched foundation. The good news is we're also giving silent kudos
to your sleek knee-high boots and your perfect skin.
My own husband often
tries to curtail my grooming routine by reminding me that, wherever we may be
headed "there's no fashion show." Actually, darling, there always is. So
for those times when getting ready for your spotlight moment, be it at the grocery
store or the office, requires a stack of ingenuity and a shard of time. I've rounded
up some of my favorite beauty shortcuts.
